Multiple wood tones on the floor make a unique way to separate the space of this open concept kitchen.
The clients wanted to update their kitchen island. They wanted the island to coordinate with the existing cabinets and having plenty of storage and functionality was also a priority for them. The island was designed to make traffic flow through the kitchen smooth. It has a sink and ample storage including a bookshelf and a pop-up shelf for a frequently used appliance. The wood floors needed to be refinished due to moving the island. The use of two different wood tones gives definition to the open concept kitchen and separates the spaces. The new kitchen island not only brings functionality to the kitchen but also beauty.
