Dog lover's new eat-in kitchen with dog wash and laundry
The clients had a closed off kitchen, an unused space, and a small utility room. They wanted to open up the kitchen and add a large island with seating to make entertaining easy. They also wanted to move the utility room to the unused space at the back of the house and include a dog washing station for their dog, Carly. To do so, a wall needed to be moved to make space for the new utility room with dog washing station, and a wall needed to be removed to open the kitchen. Because the walls were moved, the wood floors need to be redone. After the floors were finished, the new bright white, shaker style kitchen was installed. A stove with both stainless steel and luxe gold finishes allowed the client to use both warm and cool metals throughout the kitchen. A faucet and over size pulls in luxe gold were used to add warmth to the white cabinets and quartz countertops. The quartz was used for the window sill behind the sink to prevent water damage. A beautiful blue glass arabesque tile was used as the kitchen backsplash. To not obstruct the tile backsplash with outlets, task bars with outlets and lights were used under the upper cabinets. The large island offers plenty of storage, an electric outlet, and a curved overhang for lots of seating. Three large seeded glass pendant lights illuminate the island. A large glass chandelier for the adjacent dining room was selected to coordinate with the kitchen.
The utility room also used white shaker cabinets for plenty of storage. There was lots of countertop space for a work area and a sink for delicates. A raised dog washing station with a handheld shower head was added to the utility room to make washing their dog quick and easy.
We hope the client enjoys entertaining in their new kitchen and the ease of cleaning in their new utility room for many years to come.
